Biographical notes
Ercole Barovier took over the artistic direction of his family’s Murano glassworks in 1926, a firm that became Barovier & Toso in 1942, and emerged as one of the major figures of twentieth-century Italian glass. He developed numerous decorative techniques, from the Primavera and Crepuscolo series to Cordonato oro, Barbarico and Pezzato. His work combines technical research, Murano tradition and modernity.
