We were not looking for a space, but for a stage. A place apart, able to heighten the experience and to reveal both the object and the eye that looks at it. L’Usine was the obvious choice: raw, vast, expressive, a rare setting that gives the decorative arts their full dimension.
Located at the gates of the Saint-Ouen flea market, L’Usine offers 350 m² of exhibition space in a former industrial building. Its volume is striking, with soaring ceilings, brick walls and raw floors: a touch of New York in Paris. A thirty-metre private library accompanies visitors on this journey through styles, periods and materials. Open to the public Monday to Friday, L’Usine is a space where art can breathe.
Far from compact, static stands, the venue stands out for its freedom. Works take their place, assert themselves and converse in ever-changing compositions. Every arrangement tells a story, every pairing is a statement. L’Usine is a permanent, living exhibition, designed to surprise and to let our creativity express itself without constraint.
But beyond the visual experience, L’Usine is also a place to buy differently. Each piece is shown in context, designed to be seen in a real space. Visitors move through a fluid, rich world in which the works respond to one another. You come to look, but above all to choose. Here, buying becomes an experience.
