Biographical notes
A major Finnish designer and artist, Tapio Wirkkala worked with Venini on Murano from 1965 to 1970 and again in the early 1980s. His sculptural approach to glass favours pure forms and subtle optical effects. Bridging Nordic design and Murano craftsmanship, his work is held by many design and decorative arts museums.
