    Biographical notes
A French painter, Raoul Dufy devoted much of his work to the decorative arts: textile designs for Paul Poiret and then the Bianchini-Férier firm, ceramics, and tapestry cartoons for Beauvais and Aubusson. In the late 1920s he painted panels for Arthur Weisweiller’s villa L’Altana in Antibes, some of whose motifs were later woven for Pierre de Tartas at the Moulin de Vauboyen.
