Historical context
Founded in 1925 by Giacomo Cappellin after he parted ways with Paolo Venini, the MVM Cappellin & C. glassworks played a central role in the renewal of Murano glass in the 1920s and 1930s.
Based in the Palazzo Da Mula, it first benefited from the artistic direction of Vittorio Zecchin, then from 1926 that of Carlo Scarpa, who introduced new formal and technical approaches that shaped the development of glass design at the time.
