    Biographical notes
Artistic director from 1934 of the Barovier Seguso & Ferro glassworks, which became Seguso Vetri d’Arte in 1937, Flavio Poli worked there until 1963 alongside master glassmaker Archimede Seguso. His Sommerso pieces of the 1950s, with pared-down forms and layered colours, honoured with the Compasso d’Oro, are among the most representative works of postwar Italian glass.
