    Biographical notes
A major figure of 20th-century French design, Jacques Adnet directed the Compagnie des Arts Français from 1928 to 1959, and later the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs. His modernist style, with restrained lines and refined materials such as stitched leather combined with brass, unites functionality and understated luxury.
