Biographical notes
Born in Bresso, near Milan, Antonio Recalcati made his name in Paris in the early 1960s with his ‘Imprints’, made by pressing his body or clothes onto the canvas. Close to Narrative Figuration, he took part in the collective works ‘Grand Tableau antifasciste’ and ‘Live and Let Die, or the Tragic End of Marcel Duchamp’. His work is held by the Centre Pompidou and the Musée d’Art moderne de Paris.
