    Biographical notes
Having joined the Leerdam glassworks in 1914, A.D. Copier became its artistic director in 1927 and emerged as one of the great Dutch glass designers of the twentieth century. In the late 1920s his research into crackle, texture and colour gave rise to celebrated series such as Serica. His work combines technical innovation with a strong sense of design.
