Biographical notes
Born in Paris in 1902, Pierre Bobot trained at the École Bernard Palissy and the École des Arts Décoratifs before opening his lacquer workshop in 1923. A professor at the École des Arts Appliqués from 1934, he exhibited at the major Paris Salons and carried out commissions for shipping lines. His lacquers, heightened with gold and silver, were acquired by the French State and the City of Paris.
