Biographical notes
Born in 1931 in Montgomery, Alabama, and died in Paris in 2008, Fance Franck moved to France to study at the Sorbonne. A disciple of Francine Del Pierre, she devoted herself to porcelain, working in her Paris studio in close association with the Sèvres Manufactory. Her research into glazes, notably copper red, made her reputation. Her works are held by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and the Baltimore Museum of Art.
