Patinated bronze sculpture on a metal base
1977
Edition no. 7/16
H. 15 cm
From the Masques de Calabre series
Patinated bronze sculpture depicting a stylised mask inspired by the mythical village of Pentedattilo, in Calabria. The work belongs to the Masques de Calabre series, in which Busato revisits the archaic, ritual faces of this region steeped in Mediterranean traditions. The dark patina and taut modelling give the piece an intense, almost totemic presence.
