Robert Wogensky
1919-2019
A painter and tapestry designer, and a member of the Association des peintres-cartonniers de tapisserie, Robert Wogensky took up tapestry in the wake of Jean Lurçat after 1945. In the 1960s his work moved towards lyrical abstraction and a 'cosmic' vein, seen in 'Cosmos' (1968, University of Strasbourg) and 'Galaxie' (1970, French Senate).
