Jean Mayodon
1893-1967
A major 20th-century ceramicist and decorator, Jean Mayodon worked most of his life in his studio in Sèvres. Artistic adviser to the Sèvres Manufactory from 1934 to 1939, he became its artistic director in 1941. His enamelled pieces, often unique, highlighted with gold and peopled with mythological figures, adorned the liners Normandie and France among others.
