Gisèle Buthod-Garçon
b. 1954
A French ceramicist born in 1954 and based in Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie, Gisèle Buthod-Garçon is one of the pioneers of American raku in France. Her pieces, removed glowing from the kiln and then smoked, play on crackle, reflections and iridescence, making each work unique. La Piscine in Roubaix holds about a dozen of her works.
