Gilbert Poillerat
1902-1988
Trained at the École Boulle, Gilbert Poillerat worked for Edgar Brandt from 1921 to 1927, then headed the wrought-iron workshop of Baudet, Donon et Roussel. One of the most important master ironworkers of his time, he combined classical motifs, geometric rigour and refined execution. He worked notably with Jacques Adnet and made a bronze door for the liner Normandie.
