    Charlotte Henschel

    1892-1985

A German-born painter who settled in Paris, Charlotte Henschel developed a free body of work, attentive to colour, texture and rhythm, that moved towards abstraction. The Musée d'art et d'histoire du Judaïsme, which holds her work, devoted an exhibition to her in 2024 as part of its "Newcomers" series on women artists in its collections.
