Carlo Scarpa
1906-1978
Carlo Scarpa began his career in glass at MVM Cappellin, where, from the second half of the 1920s, he developed a singular formal language of transparency, subtle colours and great precision of design. This period marks the beginning of his decisive influence on Venetian glass, before his move to Venini. His work for Cappellin is today regarded as one of the foundations of the renewal of modern Italian glass.
