Biographical notes
Roger Chomeaux, known as Chomo, trained in Valenciennes and at the Beaux-Arts in Paris before breaking with academic art. Settling in Achères-la-Forêt, in the Fontainebleau forest, he spent decades building his “village of Preludian art”, combining sculpture, painting, architecture and salvaged materials. Associated with art brut, he is today a major figure of French outsider art.
