Historical context
The Gothic revival of the 1930s and 1940s took the form of a taste for wrought iron, architectural forms and decoration inspired by the Middle Ages. These floor lamps belong to this aesthetic, combining craftsmanship with a modernised interpretation of Gothic silhouettes, much prized in the architecture and interior decoration of the period.
