Pair of high-back chairs, in the manner of Charles Dudouyt
Moulded and carved oak, rush seats

Biographical notes
A major figure of mid-20th-century French furniture, Charles Dudouyt developed a recognisable style combining modernised rusticity, powerful volumes and carved wood. Influenced by craft traditions, he created furniture that is warm, structured and assertive, in a neo-rustic aesthetic that became emblematic of his work. His creations continued to influence many workshops in the following decades.
