    Biographical notes
A cabinetmaker and wood sculptor, Léon Jallot (1874-1967) ran the furniture workshop of Siegfried Bing’s L’Art Nouveau before helping found the Société des Artistes Décorateurs in 1901. He opened his own workshop in 1903 and from 1904 abandoned floral ornament for streamlined lines. Working with his son Maurice from 1921, he took part in the 1925 International Exhibition.
